Gyprock FlamechekMR™
Protecting your home should be reason to address fire prevention in the building construction of your new home or kitchen renovation.
Gyprock FlamechekMR™ plasterboard has been developed to give you two kinds of protection in one – firstly to withstand the effects of fire up to 50% longer than standard plasterboard and secondly to resist moisture and humidity.

How it Works
The gypsum core of Gyprock FlamechekMR™ plasterboard has highly effective fire retardants and moisture resistant additives. It is reinforced by fibreglass material and has face and back liners specially treated to make them resistant to moisture and humidity.
Heat Resistance
A sheet of ordinary plasterboard and an identically sized sheet of FlamechekMR are placed in a kiln that reaches a temperature of 781°C. After 20 minutes the ordinary plasterboard, seen on the right, has collapsed while the FlamechekMR retains its integrity and shape.

Gyprock FlamechekMR™ plasterboard has been developed for use on both walls and ceilings.
It is fixed directly to the frame with screws or nails. The sheet joints are set with paper tape and plaster, and a fire rated wall sealant is used at perimeters and penetrations.
Fire risk assessment results show that the system can reduce the spread of fire for up to 50% longer than standard construction. The addition of Bradford Fire Seal batts throughout the wall or ceiling cavity can further improve flame retardant performance.
