Ceiling Solutions

A sagging plaster ceiling can spoil the appearance of any room in your home. The humidity experienced in many parts of Australia can cause ordinary plasterboard ceilings to sag between the ceiling and partition, especially as wider spacings are now more common. The incorrect use of a heavy insulating system, down lights and ceiling material can have the same effect.

The Solution

With today's larger windows and the declining use of curtains, situations where light 'glances' across ceilings and highlights any sag are becoming more common. And modern interior decorating increasingly calls for darker coloured ceiling designs that can accentuate any imperfections.

Gyprock Supaceil™ plasterboard was specially developed to reduce the risk of sagging ceilings when ceiling renovating or new home building. It stays flatter because it is made with more plaster, has unique added stiffeners and is fibreglass reinforced. This all means that it has greater strength and sag resistance – keeping your ceiling beautifully flat.

How it works

Gyprock Supaceil™ contains more plaster than standard plasterboard, has unique stiffeners, and is fibreglass reinforced for greater strength and sag resistance. It incorporates patented 'controlled density' technology and is manufactured to AS2588. Long edges are recessed for flush jointing.

Construction

Gyprock Supaceil™ is fixed directly to the underside of joists, or to steel furring channels where joist alignment is uneven. The sheet joints are set with tape and plaster, and may be back blocked for extra strength.
